Our online course is divided into 12 lectures, with each lecture consisting of video trainings, assigned textbook readings, a study guide, and a quiz. There are two exams: a midterm exam and a final exam. All assessments (both quizzes and exams) must be completed with a grade of 70% or higher. However, we offer unlimited reattempts on our assessments because we want you to succeed! All course content must be completed with a passing grade in order to complete the course. Yes! While you are taking the online course, we highly recommend you complete 40 hours of a clinical experience externship to apply what you have learned from the course (though the externship is optional, not required). A clinical externship bridges the gap between the online coursework and working as a dental assistant. This externship can be completed at one of our dental office locations (located in Arizona), or at a dental office near you, per the dental office’s approval.
